Weather Support for your specific location and operational needs.

We specialize in moutain weather and provide custom forecasts, meteorological training and consultation to both the avalanche and marine industries.

We are certified instructors for both the Intro and Advanced Mountain Weather Courses offered by the Canadian Avalanche Association. Other training options includes half and full day weather tutorials during early winter guides' training.

Our goal at Alpine Weather Consultants is to first understand your needs and decision making process so that we can provide you with the best weather services possible.

Mountain meteorology is all about terrain and the interaction it has with weather to create local affects. By analyzing operational tenures, we have helped clients understand local effects specific to their area and identify tools to help in their everyday weather analysis. Our consultants design solutions tailored specifically to the needs of your business in order to ensure you make decisions with confidence and efficiency.

Our primary client is the Quebec Avalanche Centre in the Chic-Choc mountains in eastern Quebec. Two alpine forecasts are produced per week to help support their public avalanche bulletin program. Other clients include various heli and cat-ski operators in BC.

"Matt is a remarkable trainer and communicator on matters of meteorology and climate. During the Canadian Avalanche Association’s Operational Level 2 course in Whistler, I had the opportunity to attend Matt’s talk on El Nino. It was the best presentation I have heard on the subject."
